We can approach this is a few ways:

1) Are the configs matching, ensure we do not have an idle timer that disconnects the call....maybe we have the "dialer in-band" command & it defaults to 120 sec.

2) What IOS images & MICA portware do we have on the two boxes.

3) Are both the access servers at the same location? Can you swap the E1s between them?

4) In the modem call record terse or calltracker what is the cause of the disconnect? show modem op x/y will have useful info.

Reconfiguring the as5300 will do no harm...console into the as5300, do a "write erase" / write mem / reload. You should be able to reconfigure the 5300.

Thanks, Mak.
