Hi,

I want to connect a 2924 and a 2950 using a crossover cable at 100M full duplex.

When I let autosensing working everything is ok

When I force speed and duplex on both side I see a lot of deferred frames and the performances decrease

An idea?

Regards

Romain

Is the crossover cable longer than the 100m limit?

No the cable is juste 3m. The switches are in the same room

What's the negotiated Duplex and speed?

Try setting 10Mbps speed and half duplex on both sides and see whether you are getting errors.

If the problem is only when the speed/duplex is 100/full, change the cable, it will work.

There may be some bugs. I've seen a number of combinations that are exactly as you you describe. Another symptom is either or both switches reports that the other is running half duplex (it's not).

Assuming that your cable is good (properly pinned and in good shape), your best bet is to leave tham as auto (as long as you are getting the correct speed/duplex).

You may want to try updating the OS on both.

Good Luck

Scott
