Forwarding Broadcasts

Hi,

I have a 1760 router with 1 ethernet interface. I have asigned two secondary addresses to the ethernet interface apart from one primary. How can I forward broadcast from one subnet to another with this kind of setup.

Thanks in Advance

Re: Forwarding Broadcasts

Hi,

AFAIK, using secondary addresses on Ethernet port doesn't need any broadcast forwarding configuration.

Generally: all L2 broadcasts issued form one subnet will get to all the other subnets on the Ethernet.

If you want to forward broadcasts to other ports (DHCP server in another network, e.g.) use IP helper command.

Or are you interested in some kind of L3 (IP) broadcasts?

Regards,

Milan
