Fractional E1 on non-fractional E1 line?

Suppose I have a clear channel E1 line. Can I define channels on it like

a fractionalized e1 and assign the channels? I have a 3600 router and can

buy whatever line card is needed.

I would say yes. In North America, I've done this over T1 lines using a MUX at either end. I had configured some channels to carry voice and some channels to carry data.

I would say that this is dependant on the Port Adapter you have installed.

If you have a Channelised E1 Module then you should be able to specify

64K timeslots using Channel-Group Timeslots 1-x on the E1 controller for the interface in question.

I don`t believe a fractional E1 circuit is a pre-requisite to achieve this, however if anyone differs, please correct me.
