Frame Relay over ISDN problem

Hi everybody,

Having a Cisco 801 12.1(14) fc1, I tried to configure an ISDN access to a frame relay network.

The BRI0 configuration is as follows:

ip address A.B.C.2 255.255.255.252

encapsulation frame-relay IETF

keepalive 5

dialer idle-timeout 600

dialer string 9xxxxxxxx

dialer-group 1 (where dialer-list 1 protocol ip permit)

isdn switch-type basic-net3

no fair-queue

no arp frame-relay

frame-relay map ip A.B.C.1 17 (where 17 = dlci number)

frame-relay lmi-type ansi

The remote site is a leased line with a BCN router (Nortel networks)

With this configuration and a default route through the bri interface, the isdn call is established with no problems and the frame relay protocol is also up.

The command show ip int bri0 says line up/protocol up, but there is NO IP connectivity. In fact, making ping to the BRI ip address (A.B.C.2) fails.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advanced.

Re: Frame Relay over ISDN problem

Hello,

try to change the line:

frame-relay map ip A.B.C.1 17

to:

frame-relay map ip A.B.C.1 17 broadcast IETF

Also, I think you do not need to specify the ISDN switch type.

GP

Re: Frame Relay over ISDN problem

I tried frame-relay map ip A.B.C.1 17 broadcast IETF

but no news: isdn call and frame level is ok but ip level isn't.

Regarding ISDN switch type, I wrote this line un the config level and it appears automaticallyt in the interface level. If I try no isdn ... in the interface level, it ignores to me.

Thanks,
