FRAME-RELAY PROTOCOL DOWN.

Hi.

I'm try to set up a frame relay network with two 2610 with one serial device.

I have one direct link over a v35+dce that connect the two serial.

My configuRATION WAS PRETTY SIMPLE:

interface serial0/0

no ip address

encapsulation frame-relay

frame-relay lmi-type cisco

interface serial0/0.1 point-to-point

ip address xxxxx

frame relay interface-dlci 1111 ietf

On router 2 the dlci was 1112.

With sh int s0/0 the line was up and protocol was down

With sh int s0/0.1 the line was down and the protocol was down

Why this?

I'm missing something?

Best Regards.

hi giuliano,

i'm just configuring my routers to help you solve your problem. first of all

my router doesn't accept the dlci 1111.

I'm missing the frame-relay switch between your two routers.

Hi,

You need to enable frame-relay switching on both routers, also

configure the dce serial interface as DCE interface with comand frame-relay

intf-type DCE and dte interface frame-relay intf-type DTE.

Hi,

Write "no keepalive" on the 2 router FR main interface. I think this will solve your problem.

Regards
