frame-relay traffic-shaping

hi,

my question:

i have a fr-customer connected on one of my seriel interfaces.

this customer is with 1024kb/s connected (modemclockrate).

i configured the following map-class:

!

map-class frame-relay test

frame-relay cir in 512000

frame-relay bc in 51200

frame-relay adaptive-shaping becn

frame-relay cir out 512000

frame-relay bc out 51200

frame-relay be out 0

frame-relay mincir 256000

!

the customer sends data with 1024kb/s.

does this mean that my router (on wich i configured the map-class above) does policing to 512kb/s on traffic from the customer to my router ?

!

i always thought that traffic-shapping only affects outgoing-traffic

!

thanks for answer !

Re: frame-relay traffic-shaping

You can do the policing for both incoming and the outgoing traffoiec. Its not only for the outgoing. Since the keyword in is also given the incoming traffic from the customer is also policed is to 512kps .
