Can anyone tell us what the order is to remove traffic shaping on a hub and spoke topology. We tried removing the TS command on the physical interface on the hub with a result that all the spokes went down. When we tried to remove the map class from the DLCI on the spoke end that site went down.

I assume you are doing some fragmentation which is why removing the FRTS command causes loss of IP connectivity. The best possible way in this scenario is to be at the hub site and remove the map class from one remote site first, then immediately remove the map class from the hub site for that remote site ( or just remove the fragmentation commands from the map class)
This will still cause you to loose IP connectivity to the remote for a short period of time. Should be back up once you remove the map class from the hub, however connectivity will be slow till you completely remove FRTS from the hub ( asdefault class of 56K cir is taking effect)

Thanks for the advise, got some more information in the meantime
there is a vofr cisco on that DLCI as well and a hold queue on the physical interface (hub)

All sorted, removing vofr cisco from the DLCI solved the problem
