AS it is usually the case, you need to make sure the speed/duplex matches on a connection to the switch. With a hub, it can only do 10/half (in your case) and if the PCs are hard coded for 10/half on their side. Now you haven't configured anything on cisco switch, it is auto-negotiating and hence would default to 100/half. There will be errors. You need make sure both sides of the link are hard-coded correctly or auto-negotiating correctly.
Please refer the following links for troubleshooting these issues
As indicated before , most of your devices were on a hub and should have been hardcoded to 10/half on the clients nics . If they did not change these , then the Catalyst ports would all have to be hardcoded to 10/half or 100/half . You can not auto on one end and hardcode the other end this creates errors , retransmissions and general poor performance . All ports on the Catalyst not connected to another switch or router should have portfast enabled and channeling and trunking off . On Catalyst code 5.X and above this can be accomplished by the set port host 2/1-24,3/1-24 etc... command for every user port . If you decide you want to have your clients set as auto negotiate then all Catalyst ports would have to be set as auto also . Full duplex connections are always preferred over half as this basically doubles your bandwidth and eliminates collisions on the ports . simple rule of thumb switch--hardcoded---> nic hardcoded , switch set as auto----> nic set as auto .
