FWSM Questions

in the documents, it said FWSM has 6GB ethechannel conntected to 2 NP,each has 3 GB. BUT if I only install one sup720 in the chassis, as a result, I only get 3GB performance for FWSM?

Thank you!

Re: FWSM Questions

No, you will still get 6 GB with 1 sup. this is the internal channel that is dynamically created as soon as you insert a FWSM in the chassis. The network processors (NP) have 3 available gigabit interfaces each on NP1 and on NP2 to interface with the Catalyst 6500/7600 switching crossbar (SFM module or integrated switch fabric in case of the Supervisor 720) or backplane. This NP1 and NP2 are in the FWSM itself, so no need to have two sups to achieve 6 GB switching performance.
