Re: GBIC

If you are running CAT OS, you can do a "sh port". If it is a IOS based switch, do a "show interface status"

CAT OS BASED SWITCHES

w2-6.11-c4006-a (enable) sh port

Port Name Status Vlan Level Duplex Speed Type

----- ------------------ ---------- ---------- ------ ------ ----- ------------

1/1 BF-FO-rs03 3/7 notconnect 1 normal full 1000 1000BaseSX

1/2 BF-FO-rs04 3/7 connected trunk normal full 1000 1000BaseSX

2/1 connected 10 normal a-half a-10 10/100BaseTX

IOS BASES SWITCHES

6500#show interface status

Port Name Status Vlan Duplex Speed Type

Gi1/1 connected 2 full 1000 1000BaseSX

Gi1/2 notconnect 3 full 1000 1000BaseSX

6500#
