General question about Cisco auto-shutdown

I'm getting ready to install a Cisco 2621XM router and have a general question about it's auto shutdown capabilities in event of a power loss. It will be on a UPS but I was wondering if there was a way to configure it for a 'gentle' shutdown if power is not restored after a given amount of time. Most of our switches, servers, etc. use either SNMP or a UPS specific software for this but I'm not sure how to work it with a Cisco. Apologies in advance if this is too general a question. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

There's a procedure to reload the router via SNMP: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/477/SNMP/faq-snmpios.shtml#Q17
