I need to know the ip or MAC address of a device which is connected on a switch(for example catalyst 29XX). I think this information should be in the MIB of the switch, bu i can't find it. Can someone tell where in the MIB i have to look.

Thanks.

You can use a snmpwalk to get all MIBs you need. But here is a link to help with the switch cam table and snmp MIBs: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094a9b.shtml

If you don't have to use snmp, you can always use the show cam dyn command to find the mac addresses.

Hope it helps.

To retrieve MAC address table, use dot1dTpFdbTable in BRIDGE-MIB. For ip addresses, use ipNetToMediaTable in IP-MIB. That's the MIB equivelant of arp table.
