Is there a command to show the "Chassis" serial number off a remote router.

Please no "Show Version" responses, that is the number one response I have gotten and it is not good for "Chassis" serial number.

Unfortunately, you cannot get serial number of a 2600 through an IOS CLI. You'll have look it up is by physically checking the label in the router.

Hi there,

To add to above, its a very good practice to store the serial number as part of the router configuration, either in the banners that you create, or in the snmp chassis-id command, so that you can remotely pull of the serial numbers without having to read it off the router physically. If you configure the serial using snmp, it will be easy to pull the info. through SNMP.

HTH in future.
