GIGASTACK module

We have stacked 3(three) -3500 series switches. One of the gigastack module

is not able detect loop in the stack .But if i don't make a loop it works fine with the faulty GIGASTACK module and as soon as i loop all three switches , i loose the connectivity on all the fastethernet ports of all the switches.switches behave abnormally ( i. e. ports with GIGASTACK MODULES continously try to break the loop , without getting success)

Everything works fine if i replace the GIGASTACK module i.e. this new module is able to detect the loop all host have the connectivity. All switches are having latest software on that.

Now i want to know if fault is in GIGASTACK module then it shall not work without making loop also ,but as it works then it shall detect the loop also.

can any one guide me to understand this problem?

thanks

Since you say replacing the Gigastack GBIC with a new one solves the problem, I suspect it to have gone bad. Open a TAC case and have it replaced
