Hi,
I'm testing GLBP between two 3845 Cisco Routers.
Router1: G0/0 Group 45
Router1: G0/1 Group 46
Router2: G0/0 Group 45
Router2: G0/1 Group 46
When i disconnect either Router1 G0/0 or G0/1 everything is OK (using PING test).
But, when i disconnect either Router2 G0/0 & G0/1 the PING test failed.
When i issue debug GLBP at Router 2, And when i disconnect either these two ports i got the following:
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0/0, changed state to down
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: API Hardware state change
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 Interface down
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 45.1 Active: e/Forwarder disabled
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 Grp 45 Hello out VF 1 Active pri 160 vMAC 0007.b400.2d01
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 45.1 Active -> Init
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: %GLBP-6-FWDSTATECHANGE: GigabitEthernet0/0 Grp 45 Fwd 1 state Active -> Init
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 45.2 Listen: e/Forwarder disabled
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 45.2 Listen -> Init
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 45 Active: e/GLBP disabled
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 45 Active router IP is unknown, was local
Aug 26 13:32:03.871: GLBP: Gi0/0 45 Standby router is unknown, was 172.16.0.11
I see GLBP Disabled, what does it mean??
By the way, i swap the configuration between these two routers to check hardware failure, but it seems NO HARDWARE FAILURE. Both config. are the same except Router1 G0/0 & G0/1 with pri 150
Very strange messages at the DEBUG when i disconnect either G0/0 OR G0/1 at Routers2:
- GLBP Disabled
- Active Router unknow
- Standby Router unknown
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the info. What I find the config is fine and only the "track" command may not required due to no need to track GE 0/0 & 0/1 and also not use the track in GLBP group command. So you can remove the "track" command.
Could you also provide the "show glbp" before & after disconnect the cable at both routers ?
You can also use"debug glbp error" to determine any error in glbp.
For the disable state in debug. I cannot find the exact meaning of it but according to the "show glbp" description, there are two disable state :
1) virtual gateway - Disabled?The virtual IP address has not been configured or learned yet, but another GLBP configuration exists.
2) virtual forwarder - Disabled?The virtual MAC address has not been assigned or learned. This is a transitory state because a virtual forwarder changing to a disabled state is deleted.
Moreover, please advise where do you carry the ping test ? At both VLAN 600 & 700 PC ? Please try to carry a continous ping to determine will the ping successful after a few minutes ? Thx.

Hi Jack,
I removed the track command since really not needed in my case.
I used another two Cisco 6513 switches for my case and also use the default GLBO load balance which i think round robin.
The ping from PC "172.31.80.100" at switch "SW1" and PC "172.16.80.100" at Switch "SW2" ports 9/39
Thanks in advanc
