Grounding 6509s

When rack mounting 6509s is the earthing that goes via the chassis being bolted to the rack sufficient, or is a grounding strap obligatory ?

(This is for the UK).

Thanks

I guess the grounding strap is necessary. Follow the installation notes

Re: Grounding 6509s

The ground to the rack and the ground from the power cord are usually enough to protect the equipment and people. However, remember that electricity will take ALL paths to ground, so the better the chassis is grounded the better the protection for both the equipment and people. As a rule, I always take a few extra minutes to install the ground strap for extra precaution.
