GSM (HSCSD)/V.110 connection speed

Hi,

We have 3640 routers with Mica digital modems (6-DM or 12-DM) for async. and GSM/V.110 dial-in. The GSM (V.110) dial-in works fine, the router reporting connection speeds of 28800/28800 or 38400/38400. But the data troughput with ftp or file-sharing is very poor (e.g. only 1000-1500 bit/s). Normal ISDN or V.34 connections to the same routers are ok, no problem with the data troughput. GSM/HSCSD connection with the same moblies to an ISP are also ok.

Access-Router:

Cisco 3640 with IOS 12.2(23) and Mica Portware 2.9.5.0

Does anyone have any experiance or idea?

Thank’s a lot,

Daniel Ruch

Re: GSM (HSCSD)/V.110 connection speed

Can you just try out enabling or disabling a ISDN pading in the interface that your using by using "no isdn v110 padding" This is because some mobile support padding and some other doesn't.

Thank's for your answer. I've disabled ISDN padding on the interface. The down-stream throughput looks better now, up-stream speed didn't change that much.
