I want to set up a network port on my switch to force all broadcast to only go to the port that goes out to the internet. What do I need to worry about when I do this? Does it work well? What problem did you solve by using this?? Thanks in advance.

I afraid that you must use per port vlan to break broadcast domain.

You gaven't mentioned which switches you are using. There is a concept of Private VLANs on Catalyst 6000 and Catalyst 2900XL/3500XL switches.
If you protect the ports on the switch, then can communicate only with the upprotected ports. This way protect all the ports except the port going to the internet. So all ports can send traffic to the internet but not to the other protected ports.
