help 3640 isdn ddr

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to configure a 3640 with 4 bri/st isdn and 12 digital modems to accept in analogue calls and isdn calls in and out.

I've tried every method I can think of but can't get the isdn part to work.

YES..Its possible that you can use the bri lines on 3600 router with digital modems to accept the isdn and modem calls.

Here is the sample config for that

For more sample config

Re: help 3640 isdn ddr

Thanks for the info, the first config shows just connections to analogue devices. Would I be able to have a single BRI interface ie BRI2/0 accepting analogue call and ISDN calls and also send analogue and ISDN calls, or do I need to specify a BRI seperately and if so, if I have BRI2/0 to BRI2/3 should I put the "isdn incoming-voice modem" on the last interfaces eg BRI2/2 and BRI2/3 and leave the first 2 interfaces to handle ISDN traffic

Configure "isdn incoming-voice modem" under all the bri interface so that if the analog calls comes on any of bri chans, will be terminated on the modem.

With this config, all the bri lines are useful for dialin or out for both isdn as well as analog calls..

But the issue is which way do you want? You want seperate lines dedicated for ISDN and modem calls?

No. Ideally I would want all BRI chans to accept incoming & outgoing ISDN and analogue calls
