Help for performance tests on CMTS

Hi everyone.

I am trying to make some tests performance on Ubr 7246VXR ( at the moment it has only DOCSIS 1.0) and the relative HFC network.

I would like to analyse how many upstream channels I can combine together per upstream port and 2) analyse how the data rate change with the variation of the RF bandwidth.

For the moment I can’t use the management spectrum, so I can make test only with fixed frequency of the channel and in addition I don’t have any hardware devices for tests.

I have never done performance tests before, so could you suggest me any easy test to start, a good procedure to follow, or where I can find some reference tests result?

The areas for which you need to perform the tests to start with, could be,

1. DOCSIS Configuration Files due to which performance is restricted

2. Check for Sub-optimal Method for Rate Limiting

3. Measuring the Correct Parts of the System and so on.
