HELP !! I have lost all my archive on RME

Hello,

I have deleted all the content of the directory :

C:\Program Files\CSCOpx\files\archive\config

And I have launch 'update archive'

No I have 10 folder

91 --> 100 but they are all empty even when I launch and relaunch the update archive.

I would know the method to save all my config file from switch to computer.

Is there a tftp server with cw2000 and if yes, how can I use it.

Moreover how can i resolve the problem of arhcive ? because when I use ' Compare configuration' by example, I have error message like '1 or less versions were found ...'.

Thanks in advance

Best regards.

Guillaume

Deleting the contents of the directory or the directory itself is a bad idea. Update Archive should work provided that you did not change the directory permissions etc when you deleted the contents. You can manually save the device configs using the tftp server of CW2K as follows:

1) Touch a file under the CSCOpx/tftpboot directory on your CW2K server. You can use the copy con to do this.

2) On the router do a copy run tftp and enter the file name and point it to the ip address of the CW2K box as the tftp server.

Once the transfer is complete, check the contents of the file in the tftpboot directory just created.

Re: HELP !! I have lost all my archive on RME

Hello,

Thanks for all your answers you gave to me but I have one again... How can I activate the tftp server because when I do my copy runn tftp I have an error message

"

SWRG1#copy running-config tftp

Address or name of remote host []? 172.25.4.30

Destination filename [swrg1-confg]?

TFTP: error code 2 received - Access violation

%Error opening tftp://172.25.4.30/swrg1-confg (Permission denied)

SWRG1#

"

So I can't do anything...

Thanks for help.

Re: HELP !! I have lost all my archive on RME

1) Take a look in the CW2K services to verify that the tftp daemon is started.

2) Verify that the swrg1-confg file is not used by an other application like explorer for example which would explain access violation.

Hope that helps

Re: HELP !! I have lost all my archive on RME

Hello Patrice

Do I need a file empty before doing a tftp transfert ?

I deleted all the device and added theim again and now, I have a startup and running config fle in the correct folder.

But... Some of my switch aren't where they have to be : they are in the uncertified tree instead of qwicth 'device fault manager -->administration console)

Why ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: HELP !! I have lost all my archive on RME

Hello Guillaume,

Normally, with the CW2K tftp server under W2K, you don't need to create an

empty file first.

It works even without files except a README file in the tftpboot directory.

So, perhaps, you don't have this kind of file. If not, you can create it with an editor with the text do not delete.

Finally, verify that tftpboot directory has RWX permissions for all users.

If nothing is working, the best is perhaps to re-install the RME module.

OK Patrice,

Thank you very much.

I think I will reinstall in few times...
