Team,
I have a 2500 route which I don't seem to be able to connect to the console
port, and one serial interface has an ip, which I can ping to and I can
telnet to it but I don't seem to be able to have the correct password. What
else I can do here to get into this baby.....There is a way to reset the router to the factory settings....The password recovery is not working because I an not getting any display on the screen from the console port......
Thanks,
JB

maybe the config register was changed so the console speed is not 9600.
Try different baud rate from 1200 to 9600 and see if you can get a console prompt.

Thanks, for your response, I have try different set without luck, I have the same problem if i connect to it via a terminal server. I just call cisco and opened a case and I am waiting for someone to call me back....I has to be a wait to reset the router(hardware) to the factory configuration.....

I think there is a jumper you can use to reset the config register.
But if you tried all different possible speed, than the console might just be dead.
I don't think there is an official way to reset the config.
But you could try to remove the battery, hoping this would clear the nvram.
If the TAC finds a solution other than RMA, just let us know.

FYI,
After talking with a cisco engineer as yourself, we came to the conclution that there is not jumper on any router to do this, except for the 3600 router..
