Help with new MSFCII installed on Sup1A - Unable to see mod 15

Help,

I have installed a new MSFCII module on a Sup1A on a Catalyst 6009 but am unable to see Module 15.

I have upgraded the Cat OS to 5.5(4a) and have also tried 5.5(10a) both of which are suppose to be compatible.

The Sup1A bootstrap ROM is at 5.2(1) and the memory is 64K.

I have tried the suggestions on how-to Recover a Missing MSFC but still no luck. It says to try and access the ROMmon with the switch console command but still am unable to connect to ROMmon.

I have also tried reseating the card several time but still no module15.

Did the Sup have a prior MSFC installed? The only procedures to recover the MSFC are the ones you uses

If it does not work, I suggest that you contact TAC

The Sup did not have a prior MSFC and I have tried the suggestions on on the link that you provided but it still wouldn't work. My company is trying to save money so they cut out the TAC support.....nice

That could be the problem. Only Sup1a with an MSFC can be upgraded to MSFC2.

The document says that it can't be upgraded because it has no standoffs. Cisco sent me standoffs so I would be inclined to think that's not the reason.

Must be something else ...Mike
