hi
one of our customer want high availibilty solution for their existing the WAN link,
I am planning to give the solution with two 2811 router and one v35 data share device.
but in their existing network, they are using lease line, so they have only one valid ip address for WAN connection.
suggest me the serial port configuration of second router, as LAN side I am planninig HSRP.

If they are looking for high availability, wouldn't they order a redundant WAN link as well?
Thanks.

Dear Norat Aheer,
MultilinkPPP will allow you to use a single IP across a WAN made up of two leased line circuits.
Furthermore, this will provide you with redundancy in case one of the links fails. There is also load sharing taking place, and possibly an improvement in your overall link utilization.

Norat,
Also please take a look at the following url:

Hi Norat,
I am not sure what V 35 data share device is, havenot worked on it and how does it work.
But I will recommnd to have 2 WAN links, each which will terminate on each router and then use the HSRP with serial interface tracking feature.
If your Datashare device can loadbalance the traffic from both the serial links, then you can also use GLBP as posted by the above poster.
HTH, Please rate if it does.
