High fabric utilisation on Sup720 with SPAN configured
I am trying to work out why I am seeing high egress fabric utilisation on a Sup720 when a span session has been configured on a ws-x6748.
The SPAN session is mirroring two vlan's so its being over subscribed.
The Sup is suffering inband ping failures "TestSPRPInbandPing" since the SPAN session was setup. The network in general is suffering poor performance when accesing anything connected to the troubled 6509. The other switches are fine, however they are logging duplicate IP/MAC addresses, which normally means a loop on the network exists.
I know the Sup720 uses the PFC3 for forwarding decisions, but I am not sure how this ties in.
