Hello to all, I need a s/w tool which will be capable of capturing and monitoring the netflow analysis of Cisco routers by utilizing 'net-flow' caching mechanism.

I know there are such tools, but I am not aware of the on going strategy of Cisco systems that whether the company supports and/or integrates this kind of monitoring tool into CiscoWorks2K.

Are there any free tools on the market for net-flow analysis?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Onur

I am using flow-tools available at http://www.splintered.net/sw/flow-tools. One of the problems with collecting netflow data is that, depending on your traffic volume, a 60G disk can be quickly filled. flow-tools can automatically flush old data to keep the disk usage below a configured maximum. The package also has some nice tools for examining the data.

Do I need to set up a linux server for these kind of programs? Is there any version designed for Win2K OS for free?

Thanks,

Onur

I use flow-tools on a Solaris box but any unixy OS will probably work as long as you can compile the source. You also require tcpwrapper, zlib and gnu make, so that probably eliminates Windows OSs.

The following page contains links to many different NetFlow applications. One of them may work for you.
