Hosts connected to Catalyst 4006 and 2900XL lose network connection

We just installed a 4006 switch with supervisor module (WS-X4013), 6 gb modules (WS-X4306) and a Router Module (WS-X4232-L3). The network is 1200 hosts all on a single B class network and we want to configure VLAN's. The 6 2900XL switches are connected via the fiber modules. The thing is we plugged all the switches without configuration and suddenly we lose conectivity in some hosts, for example if I ping another host, the ping stops working in 10 minutes, if I ping from the same host to another the ping works AND the first ping session starts pinging again, of course this is generating a lot of trouble with the databse severs,. Because of the problem we unplugged the 4006 and we're using a 3500XL and it is working just perfect for 5 days now. Hope somebody can help me.

You may want to check out this Field alert

and upgrade your software to 6.3.3 and try again

http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/770/fn14464.shtml

If you continue to have issues after the upgrade, you should open a TAC case for troubleshooting.
