I saw some bgp sample use community-list for route filtering in BGP. I had found some resource but I still can not understand it. I saw some community-list like: ip community-list 5 permit 10:20. What's the "10:20" means?? Can anybody give me a hand? Thank you!
A community can be expressed in either decimal format (32 bit value), hexidecimal value or as an AS:Value, this last syntax required the use of the command ip bgp-community new-format. This is the syntax you are refering to,
the 10 should represent the AS number and the 20 the community value.
