to have loadbalancing, you need at least 2 routes for the same destination.

If you want to do this with static routes, you need 2 static routers for every destination.

Once you have configured the 2 routes, do a 'sh ip route x.x.x.x' and make sure you see 2 possible next-hop. If only one, you have a next-hop unreachable.

If you see 2, and still believe you have a loadbalancing issue, please explain to us what kind of issue.

Don't forget that depending on the switching mode, you will have different type of loadbalancing

- per packet if process switching

- per destination if fast swtiching

- configurable if cef switching

Hi,

What GDFOUR tried to tell you is having two static ROUTES not static ROUTERS. And if not to the same dest, then it's very simple to load balance, just divert some networks through one link and remaining through others.

Re: How can I take load balancing of static routing on Cisco 250

let's take an exmaple.

We have 1 router called R1 connected to R2 and R3.

Both R2 and R2 knows how to reach network 10.0.0.0/8

To have loadbalancing you would configure sth like this on R1 :

ip route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 R2

ip route 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 R3

Then issue a 'sh ip route 10.0.0.0' and make sure you see both R2 and R3 as next-hop
