How can I use command to verify a serial interface is syn or asyn?

Hi all,

Does any body know how to verify a serial interface is syn or asyn? (I can not see it use "sh int" and "sh controller"). and Can I use an asyn port to connnect to a lease line? or Does it depend on the DTU? Thank You!

For the 1600 series routers, if the command "physical-layer async" command is supported,

it can run on async. The same command also applies for the the NM-8A/S and NM-4A/S network

modules and WIC-2A/S cards. If you have other modules, PAs, and so on, you might want to

check if the command is available.
