Does anybody know how I can remove local login from the vty and cons 0 lines on a Cat-2950G, running IOS 12.1(13)EA1 ?
I have (accidentily) added the login local command without adding a username to the config, meaning that whenever I connect to the Switch I get prompted to enter a username that does not exist, meaning I cannot login to the device (quite a good security feature I think !)
If there is a way around this without needing to re-boot the Switch, then this would be handy.
Thanks.

can you telnet

Yes, I can Telnet to the device, but I still get the prompt for a username, as I assigned the login local command to these as well.
Thanks.

do you have snmp read write strings ?

I have read but I'm not 100% sure about write - the switch was originally set-up to sent traps to our network analyser.
When you query the switch, it doesn't give any info. other than that it is using snmpv1.
Thanks.

I think a password recovery procedure is the only solution for this..

Have you got any links/documentation on how to do this ?
Thanks.
