How is multilink PPP affected by setting interface bandwidth?

I have two T1's bundled via multilink PPP. So bandwidth defaults to 3088.

Due to some routing issues (ie - two multilink hops favored over a direct T1), I've set bandwidth on the multilink interface to 1544.

My question is, will this affect the throughput I am able to get on the interface?

I've been checking periodically and haven't noticed it ever going above 1544, but that's obviously not conclusive evidence...

Re: How is multilink PPP affected by setting interface bandwidth

The setting of bandwidth on interface is for use

by routing protocols or doing % bandwidth classification for QOS.

Your clocking rate or access speed actually determines your throughput. so if your access

speed is T1, you get T1 speed on each interface.
