Hi Anand,

That is not true. The max normal range of vlan which can be configured is 1 to 1005.

When the switch is in VTP transparent mode, you can also create extended-range VLANs (VLANs with IDs from 1006 to 4094), but these VLANs are not saved in the VLAN database

But what you are talking about the max spanning tree instance supported per vlan which is 128 spanning-tree instances.

Have a look at this link for MAX STP instance supported which running PVST+ mode

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat3750/12225see/scg/swstp.htm

Same statement lies for both 3550 and 3750 switch.

HTH, if yes please rate the post.

Re: how many vlans possible in 3750/3550?

now lets forget abt STP, let us assume i have created 100 vlans in 3750, starting from vlan 2 till vlan 100, so inter-vlan routing will happen isn't?

i know this is silly doubt, jus bcoz 1 guy was telling me it supportz juz 32 i mean any of 32 valns which can in any order.

Hi Anand,

It will work for sure.
