We want to provide Internet connection to one of our customer, we use Cisco 7500. I know using CAR we can limit their bandwidth, but I don't know how to limit their daily or monthly usage. Could you please tell me if I can configure Cisco router to monitor it? If not what kind of software I should use.
I'm not aware of any functionality that will let you limit total usage over extended time periods, but SNMP is generally the protocol of choice to monitor such usage. There are a lot of free SNMP programs out there such as MRTG and OpenNMS.
