Hi all,

we're thinking of putting dialer-watch on the core router instead of the remote routers, but we're wondering if it's going to use to many resources. The core router is presently running at an average of 30% utilization.

If someone knows where I could find numbers or docs. for cpu utilization with dialer-watch it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Mario Laniel

Sorry, but I don't know of any sort of scalability testing that has been done with dialer watch. However, I think that with little exception (in particular, during route loss and subsequent dialing) the added load should be minimal. Essentially the dialer code waits for info from the routing process to signal a change; as long as there is no change the overhead should be very small. If you do try some testing and have issues, feel free to contact me (mljohnso@cisco.com).
