How OSPF installs other router redistributed routes?

I have a router A and B both running OSPF. Router B also runs BGP. I have redistributed static routes and BGP routes into Router B's OSPF.

With OSPF between router A and B, router A will learn those redistributed routes from router B. Will those routes be installed into Router A's routing table as its OSPF routes or just in router A's OSPF database but not in router's routing table as OSPF routes?

Thanks

Gary

Re: How OSPF installs other router redistributed routes?

Hi Gary,

The routes will be installed into router A's routing table as External OSPF routes (O E1 or O E2). That is assuming that router A does not have a more preferred source of information (route with better administrative distance) for the same routes.

On router B's routing table, the routes will remain as BGP and static.

Hope that helps - pls rate posts that help.

Regards,

Paresh
