how to add 3750 in cluster with 3550 command switch

i have a cluster with 3550-12T command switch and 6 - 2950 members. 3550 has 12.1(8)EA1c software version and device ip address 192.168.0.1,192.168.1.1,192.168.2.1,...192.168.7.1.

2950 has 12.1(6)EA2c software version and device ip address 192.168.1.11...,12,21,31,32,33

there have 6 vlans - 192.168.0.1 -192.168.5.1

192.168.1.1 -management vlan. i want add 3750 in this cluster, connecting it to 3550, through port 10 Gi0/10 - with administration and operation mode 802.1Q Trunk.

for 3750 i give ip 192.168.1.55

after connectoin in Cisco network assistant ver.4 i can see 3750 and that's all. please help me to connect it properly

Hi There,

How did you added the switch to the cluster. Using GUI or CLI.

I would suggest you to use cli and use the command " cluster memeber " on 3550. Make sure you have CDP turned on the ports connected to 3750 and 3550. If you can see the 3750 as a CDP neighbor , you will be able to add it.

Hi

The recommendation with clusters is to have the newest-generation switch as the commander - these normally have more up-to-date code etc..

See this URL, at the end of the 'Clustering Overview' section it states that if you have a 3750 then it should be the master.
