Re: how to change keepalive between active and secondary sup on

There are several types of redundancy for the 6500 series. The only one (that I know of) that allows you to change the keepalive timers is when you are running active-active mode for the MSFCs. You can run active-active mode on the MSFCs when running in hybrid mode. To change the keepalive timers you simply change the HSRP timers on each VLAN interface on the MSFCs.

But, I think most of this has been deprecated. It all depends on the IOS version you are running.

With RPR+ the keepalive timers are not configurable. RPR+ failover is very fast but you may want to convert to SSO (Staeful Switch Over). The blades do not reset when using this failvoer option and routing protocols can be configure for NSF (Non Stop Forwarding).
