I have switch C2950A's configuration.
How can I port over to another C2950 switch from the same config so that I dont need to configure manually from the CLI?

if i was understood correctly from your post, your requirement is without typing the entire config of a new switch, you wanted to have samethe configuration of the old switch to the new switch isn't? if that is the case, the very basic thing you just have to setup an ip address in the new switch. copy the "config.text"from switch A via tftp server located in "flash:config.text", then from the pc/laptop copy that "config.text" to the Switch B's "flash:".
hope this helps.

But I still got back the same config of the Switch B or should I erase the config.text file first from Switch B or remove the config.text??
did you save the configuration after copying that? also restart the switch. if you still find the same, try to delete "delete flash:config.text" & then copy switch A config.text, after doing this, jus restart the switch.
hope it works,

Thanks,i managed to copy the config.text, went thru but got the error message as below, not too sure what it meant after it successfully copied the file over.
00:09:47: %SYS-5-CONFIG_NV_I: Nonvolatile storage configured from tftp://10.8.23
0.201/config.text by console
and my Switch B's config still stays the same..
Its the information message that states the the config has been copied to NVRAM
Save the config and restart ur switch and check weather the config has changed or not.
that is not an error message, that is just an information, stating the configuration has been written sucessfully.
but have you restarted the switch?
last question before i rate ya,...Anyway to pop the VTP configuration as well from switch A to switch B?
Or the vtp must be set manually??
