how to configure nat on 1712

1712

fastethernet0

ip nat outside

The rest is a 4-port switch. Which one is the second fastethernet interface in which I will place the ip nat inside commamd? The 4-port switch is a layer 2 device. Logically no ip address should be accepted.

I would like to know how the router handles the switch.

Re: how to configure nat on 1712

Hi,

As it is 4 port Switch module, you can not assign ip to any of the ports.

How ever, you can configure VLANs (Upto 16), like if you are doing in L3 switch.

So any VLAN interface can be used to participate in NAT

Regarding your second query , Pls refer to
