How many IPs you can get, depends on what type of service you have subscribed from the ISP. If you have a dynamic IP address (which is cheaper), then you can lease only one ip address for your router. If you have subscribed to static addresses, then you might be able to get more ip addresses, depending on the subnet mask assigned to you by the provider.(static IPs cost more). If the PCs are used only for access from inside to outside (internet), then you dont need that many static IPs. You have a 2611 which has 2 ethernet ports. Configure the PPPOE ethernet interface with NAT and put the PCs on the second ethernet interface. You can use a private addressing scheme for the PCs (RFC 1918 addresses).
The 2500 series does not support PPPoE. You will need to use the 2611.
now i got a lots of IP, just dynamic. ISP is Bell Canada Sympatico. if i have 1000 PCs in my home, i guess i can get 1000 IPs from Bell. it is great. but i don't konw why. meanwhile, the IP which i got it on my 2611 always change. i don't know why. i never shut down the 2611.
meanwhile, i have a question about T1, may i connect two T1 by ONE cable, one T1 from 2525, 1 is from 2610. help me.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
