How to enable CGMP without enabling multicast routing???

Good afternoon,

I have a network architecture of 2 C5500 with RSM/NFFC2 and 4 VLAN's directly attached on a delta configuration: switch dual attached with STP and HSRP redundancy.

I would like to enable CGMP + IGMP snooping to constrain multicats at layer 2 only and not route any multicast traffic between the VLAN's.

Since I need to enable multicast routing on the RSM on all the VLAN interfaces where I will use CGMP, is there a way not to route traffic while still using CGMP?

Here is the configuration:

Multicast Router

Enable the IP multicasting (global command):

ip multicast-routing

Enable each interface running CGMP (interface mode):

ip pim sparse-mode

ip cgmp

Thanks for your help,

Pierre

You need a router to act as querier, but don't configure ip multicast-routing on the router.
