How to filter by MAC address on router Ethernet interface?

Hi,

I need to lock one of the Ethernet interfaces on a router to a specific MAC address so only one device is allowed to use it. I haven't been able to find any way in which the ACL enables filtering on MAC address.

Any ideas please ?

Thanks.

does this mean we are obliged to use bridging if we want to make mac-address ACL ?

i'm using routing and not bridging, can i control access from LAN to WAN based on MAC-addresses ACL ?

Unfortunately, I believe this is indeed the case (someone can confirm).

A router can only utilize a MAC based ACL if it is put into bridge mode but you then loose the ability to route so it's a catch 22. Works well enough internally to segment a LAN if you have the money to do it (VLANS can get you pretty much the same thing though) but doesn't really cut it for WAN
