Abdul:

The answer depends on what you want to do and how the rest of your network looks like.

If all you have as far as Internet access are these two links *and* both vendors provide you with the same connectivity, then the easy answer is to just use two static default routes (one for each T1). That's it! :-)

Thanks for your help. Configuring static default routes for each T1 does this mean that I dont have to configure multilink? if not how will it do load sharing and also Both t1s has an ip address provided by ISP.Both T1s are from the same ISP.

Thanks again.

Several solutions.

1. If it is from same provider, then check to see if that ISP supports PPP load balancing as that's the best.

2. If from different provider, you can split your campus in half and have one half use one ISP and the other half use the other.

3. BGP if you have two ISPs that are willing to poke holes in their route tables for you and cooperate. It's hard to get a /24 added to the BGP table these days though.

4. F5 has a solution for this. It's called BIG-IP Link Controller and it's found here -> http://www.f5.com/f5products/bigip/LinkController/

5. There's also a commercial product that dynamically tweaks BGP via SNMP based on parameters you set. This product is from RadWare and is called PeerDirector, which can be found here -> http://www.radware.com/content/products/pd/default.asp

6. See Cisco's offical link on the topic -> http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/459/40.html

7. See RFC 2260 -> http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2260.html

Thanks for your help. Only confussion is both the T1(same vendor) has an ip address provided by the isp. All the PPP multilink load sharing config samples I have seen has serial ports configured for no ip address.

Thanks again for you help.
