How to remove a port channel?

What command is used to remove a port channel that was setup on a 6509? I believe that it is done by the command "set port channel 2/16 mode off". After running this command I used "show channel" - 2/16 no longer appears. However, after running the "show config" command there is an output line stating "set port channel 2/16 mode off".

Yes I have experienced this too - we scrapped the config and started from scratch !

The default channel mode is auto and "off" is one of the configurable channel modes. Try"set port channel 2/16 mode auto" and the config under module 2 should go away. But still you would see an admin group assigned under #port channel.

If you do not wish to channel, the best pratice is to set the channel mode to off.
