How to set 2 VLANS on 1 port on a catalyst switch?

Hello,

I have a 1711 router with 1 physical ethernet interface. I have it configured for 2 sub-interfaces - vlan2 and native vlan1. This will be plugged into a Catalyst2950 switch port. Right now all ports on the switch are defaulted to vlan1. Is there a command on the switch where I can just set that 1 port to recognize the two vlan tags(vlan2 & native vlan1) that was set on the router making the router itself recognizable by other machines on the vlans?

Thank you,

Lee

Hi Lee,

You can use trunking to allow multiple vlans in a switch and also use dot1q encapsulation on the appropriate sub-if.
