How to shutdown UDP broadcast on 3550 switch

I have a 3550 switch that is passing broadcast. This is interferring with my dhcp server and its ability to give the proper workstations an ip address. Since my workstations are hitting the server with a broadcast it does not know how to respond. Therefore, I need a little help in learning how to shutdown UDP forwarding. I am running portfast, and shutting down port fast does not help. Also, I am running the ip helper command and that is not working either. Thank you in advance.

Hello,

to specify which protocols and ports the router forwards when forwarding broadcast packets, use the ip forward-protocol command in global configuration mode. Use the no form of this command to remove a protocol or port. In your case, the command would be:

no ip forward-protocol udp
