How to upgrade a 4503 with sup4 to IOS 12.1.14

Hi,

Can anyone point me to the correct procedure to upgrade a 4503 (with Sup4, 6Port GBic and 24port 10/100/1000 Ethernets) from CATOS 7.1.4 to IOS 12.1.14

I have not done this before, and would like some guidance.

Thank, this is useful.

But there is no mention of how to go from CATOS to IOS.

I have a supervisor 4 engine, so it looks like i will have no issues.

So I assume that I just TFTP the new IOS to FLASH and reboot?

Is it as simple as that?

You cannot upgrade a Sup2 to IOS

You cannot upgrade Supervisor 2 Engine to IOS. It supports CAT OS only. If you want IOS, you'll need a Supervisor 3 or 4 Engine

Yes, I do have a supervisor 4 engine.

I read the release notes for 12.1.14-3w and it says i need to uopgrade the supervisor 4 ROMMON to the "cat4000-sup3-promupgrade-121_12r_EW".

But I cant find it anywhere on the cisco web site.???

I finally found the ROMMON image, thanks....

Any other tips apart form backing up the original files.....?
