Hi all,

I know HSRP using multicast address 224.0.0.2 and UDP port 1985.

So , What if I am using UDP port 1985 for a Application for a server. Of course the server does not using multicast.

Do they bother each other ?

Welcome any answer ...

Thanks in advance ...

224.0.0.2 is defined as the 'all routers' multicast address, so your servers shouldn't be bothered by these packets. Note that HSRPv2, available in 12.3(4)T, uses multicast group address 224.0.0.102.

Thank you so much
